Morning Routine with doTERRA

Updated: Oct 27, 2023

Good morning! I hope you are ready to see how easy it is to incorporate doTERRA products in your daily routine. While you read and watch (video at the bottom) how I use the products daily I want you to count how many of these types of products you already use. Do you use shampoo, face wash, toothpaste, etc? How much easier would it be to just order these products and get them delivered straight to your mailbox or door?

Also before we dive in I have this small disclaimer: This was a Saturday morning, my husband had the kids downstairs, so I could do this video in peace. Any other day I usually have one or both audience members, if I shower in the morning, and have to help the baby (10 mo old at time of video) when he gets into things and/or gets stuck. My mornings don’t always go as smooth as shown. Also on a typical work day it takes me about 20 mins to get ready from washing my face on.

Disclaimer #2: This is how I use the products. Make sure you read the directions and talk to your doctor if you need before using any of the products. I use them based on how they work best for me and after listening to suggestions and tips from my upline.

Alright here we go!!

First up is dry brushing! Did you know that dry brushing exfoliates, increases circulation, stimulates the lymphatic system, helps eliminate toxins from the body, and improves cellulite! It’s so easy too. Take your dry brush, add a couple drops of essential oils like Slim & Sassy, and in circular motions brush up towards your heart. It doesn’t have to take very long. In fact, I do it while I wait for the water to warm up. (Note: I forgot to grab my oil, but I do like using Slim & Sassy Metabolic Blend because it has Grapefruit, Lemon, Peppermint, Ginger, and Cinnamon which not only help your metabolism, but also helps eliminate toxins and improves cellulite.)

Next is doTERRA Breathe Oil. I use just a drop or two in the corner of the shower. This helps open up the airways and just awakens the senses. You could use many different oils depending on what you need or want. If you are taking a shower at night I might suggest something relaxing like Lavender or Serenity. If you are needing something to wake you up, I would suggest citrus oil.

Alright now it’s time for the shampoo. I hadn’t really used the doTERRA brand because I had shampoo and conditioner that I really loved. It was recommended from my hair lady a few years ago, it smelled great and worked really well. I kept saying I would switch over once I ran out of said shampoo and conditioner, but here we are over a year later and I haven’t ran out of my gallon jugs yet. I decided I would just start using it here and there, well since making the video I have only used the doTERRA shampoo and conditioner and oh man is it great! It smells AMAZING and works just as well, if not better than what I was previously using. I’m surprised it took me so long to switch over. The shampoo is a “professional formula with an invigorating complex of CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils, gentle cleansers, and botanical ingredients that keep the hair looking clean and healthy. A unique combination of plant extracts, along with Wild Orange and Lime essential oils provide gentle lathering and cleansing to remove impurities collected on the hair and scalp. Light moisturizers leave the hair salon soft, shiny, and touchable.” The shampoo also protects color treated hair (me!) against UV oxidation. I wash my hair twice. On the second wash, I leave it in until after I wash my body. This is just how I do it. You don’t have to change however you do it.

This next product is one I have always loved, but didn’t really know how to incorporate it easily. Until I jumped on a zoom call with my upline and it was suggested to use it in the shower when you wash your hair. I thought “that’s genius!” Enter the Reveal Facial System! This duo makes your face SOOO smooth! It’s a 2-step process. Take step 1 and apply it all over your face and down to your clavicle, if you want, in small circular motions. Then apply step 2 the same way. Don’t wash off step 1 until after you apply step 2. This spa-like facial treatment removes dead skin cell buildup and makes your skin soft and smooth. After you apply step 2, go ahead and wash it off. I just use my hands, but you could use a washcloth. You only want to use this product 2-3 times a week. I only wash my hair about that, so it’s a perfect way to remember and incorporate.

Now that I have exfoliated and removed dead skin cells from my face, it’s time to do the same to my body. doTERRA Spa Exfoliating Body Scrub is a great product for this. It’s very gentle with natural sugar cane and has Wild Orange, Grapefruit, and Ginger. It removes the dead skin cells by exfoliating, but then hydrates with the help of kukui, macadamia, and coconut oils. I have been using this on my arms and legs for years and absolutely love it! Also plus any pedicurist that may be reading, it doesn’t make a lot of bubbles in the foot tub. I went to get a pedicure about a year ago now, and the scrub she used would create a lot of suds that she would have to drain the tub and then refill, otherwise there would be suds all over the floor. The next time I went in I brought this body scrub and had her try it. No abundance of suds! It was great!

Alright the hair is washed, the body exfoliated, time to wash the body. doTERRA offers body wash and bath bars. I have used the bath bars and I enjoy them, however, I want to make a cloth pouch to hold the bar in to not only make it easier to hold on to, especially as it gets smaller, but also I feel it washes better when using a washcloth. Until that happens, I use the body wash with my loofah. The body wash has Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Cedarwood oils which are refreshing and uplifting. It has natural surfactants from coconut oil and essential fatty acids so it won’t irritate the skin like other harsh soaps and body washes. I also use it for shaving my legs. No need for separate shaving cream.

After I wash my body, I rinse everything off including the shampoo that’s been in my hair this whole time. Then I apply some doTERRA conditioner. Not only do the botanical extracts provide hair color maintenance and protection, but it’s infused with Lavender, Peppermint, Marjoram, Cedarwood, Lavandin, Rosemary, Niaouli, and Eucalyptus that helps keep the scalp looking clean and healthy.

Finally, out of the shower and dressed. I also use a leave in conditioner, but doTERRA doesn’t currently have one. That’s why I didn’t show the bottle.

Time to wash my face. doTERRA has 3 different skin care lines, Verage, HD Clear, and the one I use, Essential Skin Care. Each one has their own perks and who they are typically geared towards.

The Essential Skin Care Face wash has Melaleuca and Peppermint essential oils in it. Those are to help purify and tone skin and support a healthy complexion. After I wash I apply the Pore Reducing Toner with a cotton ball. This has Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and German Chamomile to help calm sensitive skin, increase hydration, and visibly reduce the appearance of pores. It also has Witch Hazel in it, which helps remove excess oil. Next is the Tightening Serum with Frankincense, Hawaiian Sandalwood, and Myrrh. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and promote skin hydration. It also has anti-aging ingredients for firmer, younger-looking skin.

Next comes the Anti-Aging Eye Cream. I absolutely love this! It has Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, and Blue Tansy to target the signs of aging around the eyes and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time. It also decreases the appearance of dark circles! As a former elementary teacher, mom of 2, and early morning forgein teacher dark circles just seemed like my new thing, but after using the eye cream they have diminished quite a bit. It was also suggested to keep it in the fridge. This way the stainless steel ball used in application would be cold and help with eye puffiness and other things. Now I just keep mine on the bathroom counter, but the stainless steel ball is still decently cool in the morning, and it definitely helps with puffiness.

The last, but certainly not least, product in my facial routine is the Hydrating Cream! *insert heavenly sound here* Seriously, this product was the first of the skin care line that I bought. I sampled it at a training a couple years ago in Boise and just had to have it after that. It has Lavender, Jasmine, Geranium, and Frankincense oils in it. It smells so divine and isn’t greasy AT ALL, which is a big thing when you’re applying to your face. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles also. “Carefully chosen ingredients are designed to rejuvenate the look of mature skin, as well as to help reduce the visible signs of aging due to both natural and environmental causes. Probiotics reinforce the skin’s natural barrier, helping to improve skin’s natural health and beauty. Perfect for day or night use.”

After all that I apply the Yarrow Pom Body Renewal Serum to my stomach. While I may be comfortable with a lot of things, showing my stomach, at this time, is not one of them. This is why you don’t see me actually apply it. This Body Renewal System is great for revitalizing aging skin and preventing the normal breakdown of skin proteins. Roman Chamomile, Yuzu, Peppermint, and Canaga essential oils soothe skin and promote a positive and relaxed mood. This serum also increases skin moisture for a smoother, more youthful-looking skin and has deep moisturizing benefits. It also helps enhance skin luminosity and improve the appearance of firm skin for a smooth, vibrant, radiance. I use it on my stomach to help with my post-pregnancy belly.

doTERRA has a few different deodorants currently, but I am using the Balance one. I have used all the others and like them all just as good. They all are going to have pretty similar benefits. The Balance deodorant has Spruce, Ho Leaf, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus essential oils. All the deodorants are Aluminum, paraben, phthalate, and talc free. The Balance deodorant uses Tapioca starch and Baking soda to help in absorbing moisture and neutralizing odors. I feel like the doTERRA deodorant works just as well, or better, than other deodorants that I’ve used.

Normally, I would go down, eat breakfast and then come back up to brush my teeth. However, for the sake of the video and making sure I didn’t end up with a “helper” I went ahead and did it now. The On Guard toothpaste is fluoride-free and helps clean teeth, reduce plaque, and whiten teeth. It has the On Guard blend of Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary, along with Wintergreen, and Peppermint essential oils to aid in extra cleaning and provide a cinnamon-mint flavor that leaves your breath nice and fresh. You can even add a drop of essential oil to get even more benefits while brushing your teeth. Some I’ve heard of are: Clove, Cinnamon, Spearmint, and Peppermint.

Of course now I have to use the On Guard Mouthwash. I was never one to be very diligent when using mouthwash, but after trying this one I am hooked. The doTERRA On Guard Mouthwash is alcohol free and made to clean teeth and gums, reduce plaque, and of course promote a healthy-looking mouth. It is made up of the essential oils Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, and Myrrh and other natural ingredients. The Miswak extract helps freshen breath and reduce plaque buildup and the Xylitol helps maintain healthy and strong teeth.

Last but certainly not least I need to apply some moisturizer. doTERRA has three different moisturizers; Body Butter, Body Lotion, and Beautiful Body Mist. They all have their benefits, but today I wanted to use the Body Butter. I enjoy all the moisturizers mostly because they don’t leave my skin feeling greasy. The Body Butter uses shea and cocoa seed butter for deep moisturizing, Jojoba seed oil helps the skin look hydrated, and avocado oil gives essential fatty acids to nourish and soften the skin. It is lightly scented with Wild Orange, Douglas Fir, and Frankincense oils.
